Crispin cast anti-flying curse on Cedric for soiling his flower garden. Cedric was left having to find a way to lift the curse.

Cedric (now known as Cedric the Grey) is a wizened old owl, and an old friend of Graham's. Graham discovered him trapped in a cage on the floor of his castle hallway. The cage was locked. It's been a while since they had last met. He knows Graham is going out on another adventure, just like the old days.
He tells graham to look towards the armor. Looking over the armor to the left of the cage, examining its arms, legs, and helm, he saw the glint of a brass key as it fell to the ground. With the key he was able to unlock the cage to free Cedric. Cedric admitted that his irascible granddaughter had been playing practical jokes and locked him in the cage. Then tells Graham good work, and to get the key. Cedric anticipated his freedom, calling Graham a true hero.
After being freed, Cedric was glad he wasn't trapped in some dead end. He wishes Graham his Happy 100th birthday noting they both are wiser with age. He promised Graham would never find himself in a unwinnable condundrum. Crispin had taught him a useful spell or two.
One of the magic spells includes "Load Owl" which can be used at the Magic Mirror (unofficial) to turn back time.
