Background
She was enslaved by her wicked step mother. Cinderella had a fairy godmother. Cinderella's godmother was a fairy who carries a magic wand that had the power to transform things--the girl's ugly clothes into a beautiful gown, is a case in point.[1] She did this so that Cinderella could get a chance at marrying Prince Charming.
Behind the scenes
Cinderella is also an answer in the King's Questions, of the concept of a character that doesn't appear in the King's Quest games. Though the concept of the fairy godmother does.
