The Eastern mountains are a mountain range in Serenia.
Background[]
They apparently lie to the east of the hills of Serenia, where the Wedzel Wolves live. It is part of the Great Mountains (KQGS).
The Merchant of Miracles found himself awed by Mr. Fancycakes in Eastern mountains of Serenia while he was out in search of squaddlenogs.
These are apparently the mountains where Avalon (KQGS) is located as well, and in northern half of the country the Ice Palace (KQGS) (and Ice Tower) was located near Serenia.
These mountains are home to goats, Wedzel wolves, sauirrels, yetis, and ice orcs and the crystal dragons. Bill (KQGS) and Susan live up in the mountains.
Behind the scenes[]
In the KQ5 the mountains to the north and east were known as the Great Mountains or great mountains. They are described at least once in the game as the 'eastern mountains' (Eastern is not capitalized)[1]
While Chapter 1 does refer to Great Mountains (KQGS) in one line, the reference appears to be more a reference to the King's Quest Companion, and to the KQ3 Mountain Range, which was called Great Mountains in The King's Quest Companion books. The Great Mountains first originated out of Wizard and the Princess.
