The sorcerer was an evil being who invaded Daventry after the three treasures were stolen. He may have been the same sorcerer who stole Magic Mirror as well, hiding it in the Dragon's Lair.
The sorcerer later attends Graham's wedding in Kolyma castle.

Whereas the sorcerer and enchanter in KQ1 and KQ2 were implied to be the same being, it is obvious that this sorcerer is an entirely different character than the Enchanter. The enchanter actually has more in common with the version of the sorcerer from KQ1SCI with the brown robes.
The character list for Romancing the Stones states that he appears at the wedding at the end of KQ2RTS.
