Gertrude the Chicken was once a chicken in Manannan’s chicken coup. She was a friend of the other chickens. One day Manannan came out and caught her. She ended up being made into into the evil wizard's stew.

Gertrude the Chicken is also mentioned in King's Questions but is one of the wrong answers to one of the trivia questions. Choosing the wrong answer mentions the fact that Gertrude was made into soup by a wizard.[1]
Gertrude is also mentioned in the unofficial King's Quest III VGA, but the reference is the same as in the official KQ3.
