Mordack
From King's Quest Omnipedia
Mordack is the brother of the wizard, Manannan and the witch, Hagatha. He is the main antagonist in the fifth game of the series, and is believed to be a more powerful wizard than his brother, Manannan.KQC 159
Not much is known about Mordack past. Abdul Alhazred was both his minion and a good friend. Alhazred, was a vizier of the Land of the Green Isles, and brother of the Society of the Black Cloak. Through his relationship with Alhazred he was able to meet Cassima, princess of the Land of the Green Isles. He expressed his wishes to marry Cassima, though she refused. Enraged by ths, Mordack kidnapped Cassima with Alhazred's help and put her to work as a scullery girl on his island.
Sometime after, or possibly during these events, Mordack's brother, Manannan, was transformed into a cat by Prince Alexander of Daventry. In retaliation for this, Mordack casts a magic spell on Castle Daventry. The spell minimized the castle, and imprisoned it with its inhabitants inside a glass bottle. The bottle was kept inside his laboratory in his castle. Mordack was killed shortly thereafter in a magical battle with King Graham of Daventry, when Mordack transformed into fire, and Graham summoned a rain cloud.
In the sixth game, he is described as being a "ninny at chess" in a letter to Abdul Alhazred from Shadrack.
[edit] Mordack in the Unofficial Games
Manannan visits Mordack on his island in the unofficial King's Quest III (IA) to discuss his plans for Alexander. A few months after Alexander's return home he teleports into Manannan's House to retrieve his brother. He then burns the house down.
In KQ2 (AGDI) he is said to be also the younger brother of Manannan and Hagatha. However his relationship with Hagatha is strongly implied to be a connection to the Black Cloak Society, not a family relationship.
In the ZZT games, Ravenlos is said to be his cousin.
[edit] Behind the scenes
In the official King's Quest Collection trivia program, King's Questions and the King's Quest Companion, Hagatha is said to be his sister. Though this fact is not brought up in any of the manuals or the official adventure games themselves. Also, Roberta Williams stated in an interview that "Hagatha was her own separate person". The connection was therefore probably made only by other official designers, authors, or producers that have contributed to the King's Quest universe and lore.
He is widely considered the most powerful villain in the official King's Quest series.
