The bowl of Porridge was discovered in the Three Bears' house by Alexander who took the smallest bowl, the one that was just the right temperature. After creating a Cat Cookie using the Transforming Another into a Cat spell, Alexander crumbled the cookie into the porridge in order to discreetly feed it to Manannan. When Manannan got hungry again, Alexander gave him the whole bowl of porridge which Manannan ravenously ate, never noticing the tampering. After Manannan finished the bowl, the spell took effect and transformed Manannan permanently into a cat.
Hot porridge is often served with slices of good Daventry ham and flapjacks.
