Some believe that the Roman Pool, a marble pool in northern Tamir came from the Other World, when the magical creatures of Greece and Rome withdrew to Daventry. The Romans gave Poseidon the name Neptune. The Romans sometimes thought of Dragons as wise and powerful dwellers of the inner earth and used the image of the dragon on some of their standards. The Romans, like the Greeks believed that the great winged horse Pegasus could only be tamed if it were wearing a certain magic bridle. Cupid was the god of love to both the Romans and Greeks.
