Roses are a type of flower seen in many gardens of the world.

Background

After Rosella completed the last task Lolotte had demanded, she was imprisoned in Edgar's tower bedroom to wait for dawn--at which time she was to marry the witch's ugly son against her will. Worse, if she did not escape before then and recover Genesta's Talisman, then the Queen of the Fairies would die, and so too her father. Rosella was imprisoned but a few minutes when she heard a sound by the door and saw a red rose slipped under to her. When she examined it, she discovered a small gold key that allowed her to escape the room. The key also unlocked the door to Lolotte's chamber, and that is how Rosella was able to conquer the wicked witch. Because of his act on behalf of Rosella, Genesta transformed Edgar into a handsome prince, but Rosella still declined his offer of marriage.[1]

White roses grew on magical rose hedges in the Garden of the Beast, and pink roses grew on the gates of Beauty's House. The magical rose hedges were the third mystical blockade that imprisoned the Beast. The hedges grew all around the gazebo which led to the hedge maze. When Alexander approached them, they grew together to bar passage along the path. Alexander used a scythe to cut the rose hedges faster than they could regrow. Finally, the last of the magic was spent, and the path was cleared.

In the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare he spoke of the rose;

What is in a name? That which we call a rose
by any other name would smell as sweet.[2]

The dark roses of Daventry are known for their deep shade.[3]

Behind the scenes

The name Rosella, by the way, means "little rose".

The rose in KQ6 is known as the 'white Rose' in the KQ6 hintbook, white rose.
