It is an icon in the VGA King's Quest games (KQ5 and KQ6) that leads to the Inventory.
Graham uses it to carry items in the KQ1 story in Quest for the Crown: From the Chronicles of Daventry, Part I and KQ2 story in Romancing the Throne: From the Chronicles of Daventry, Part II and Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder: From the Chronicles of Daventry, Part V in The King's Quest Companion.
It is said that Graham carried a leather traveling bag on his back, and it was something he always carried in case he discovered something interesting to bring home.
