The Troll was a forest troll, a bridge troll who once blocked passages across several of the bridges in Daventry.

Background[]

He was the an old troll, the hulking guardian of Gnome Isle in Daventry. He demanded a Troll Toll from whoever wished to visit the island.[1] But Graham tricked him by taking the goat towards him. He and his family have been known to guard bridges throughout Daventry.[2]He was  a wretched and nasty troll, the bridge had been in his family for years and years, and no one not including knights had ever passed across his bridges without paying the Troll Toll..

It is generally known that goats hate trolls, so the goat knocked the troll off the bridge into the River Fools, and he was never seen those parts again. Some accounts may suggest he may have even drowned in the river. Regardless Graham never saw the troll again.

After recovering the treasures and becoming king Graham banished the terrible trolls from the kingdom.

Personality and traits[]

He was wretched and nasty, and greedy, the ugliest and meanest troll anyone had seen. He was a real fighter, though old he was reall quick. If anyone tried to push him, he would not budge and inch. He has a heart of stone. He has bad hearing.

Behind the scenes[]

This character is known simply as TROLL in KQ1SCI. It shares its designation with the Troll in KQ4, that was also only known as the Troll.

Troll of Daventry is not an official name and title, it is just a listing of its title Troll and its location.

In KQ1 AGI its unlikely that the Troll was killed. It's suggested he was washed out of Daventry to another land in the narration. In the remake its much less clear, and seems as if it might have been more fatal.
