Dr. Watson was a friend and aide-de-camp to Sherlock Holmes. His position to the detective much like the one shared between Cedric and Crispin.^[1]

Behind the scenes[]

In The Adventure of the Speckled Band, Sherlock and Dr. Watson discover that it is a 'poisonous snake' which is the weapon used on the victim in the story.^[2] I somewhat ironic connection when considering Cedric is 'somewhat inspired' by Dr. Watson.
