Widow Fergus is the mother of Martha Linn, her son-in-law is Brian Linn. She died when all three of them were crossing over a bridge and it collapsed. They were buried in the Daventry town cemetery.

Fergus is a family surname and it's likely that her daughter had that name as well before she was married. It's possible that Fergus could have been the name of her husband (or at least his surname) as well (in Daventry surnames seem to be rare, as most characters tend to have a single given name.).
